A Warm Welcome
The decision to return to work with pre-school children still at home is never an easy one for any parent to make. The decision about where to leave your child while you work is an even harder one. Will my child be safe? Will my child be happy? Are the educators going to look after my child with love and affection? Will my child continue to develop into a happy, healthy young individual?
Of course no other person can replace a mum or dad in the eyes of the child.
We certainly don’t attempt to replace any parent, however we are keen to work in conjunction with the families to create a safe, healthy, happy environment for each and every child that attends The Village Early Learning Centre.
Our aim is to see your child grow from dependence to independence and develop an active, positive and constructive approach to life. The social skills your child will develop will leave him/her in good stead when it comes to school. We will provide practical support, assistance and information to parents on childhood development and aim to build mutual trust between all children, staff and families.
The name, The Village Early Learning Centre, was inspired partly by its location adjacent to Sandringham Village, and also our centre philosophy.
The African proverb – “It takes a whole village to raise a child” – stems from the belief that a child has the best ability to become a healthy adult if the entire community takes an active role in contributing to the rearing of the child.
